Great Food Magazine is published bi-monthly and is on sale at a variety of shops including local Waitrose and WHSmith stores, and at a large number of farm shops and delis. To find your nearest stockist, click here.

The magazine, through its team of passionate contributors, celebrates local produce in the Heart of England, tells the stories of the people who bring it to your plates/glasses, and offers seasonal recipes. It also brings you restaurant reviews, events information and news from the local food and drink scene.

BACKGROUND…

Great Food Magazine (plus this website) was launched independently in July 2010 by Melton Mowbray resident Matt Wright and was originally called Great Food Leicestershire & Rutland.

Matt saw that there was a vast number of local producers, chefs and other artisans making fantastic food and drink, but that their work did not have a magazine to reflect its passion and quality. There was a paucity of information on local food and what did exist was scattered.

Great Food was launched to address this and to satisfy a growing thirst from food lovers for information on local, artisan producers and the best places to eat, drink and buy exceptional produce.

In July 2011, Great Food Leicestershire & Rutland became Great Food Magazine, a publication that is handmade in the Heart of England to celebrate the very best local food and drink.

The distinctive front covers are painted by Graham Wright, Matt’s father.
